We Filter It!
1996 Ford Windstar Minivan
This 1996 Ford Windstar was the vehicle I owned when I first took over the Frantz Filter Business after the death of my Father.  Four months prior to his death he visited for Thanksgiving 2000 and at that time he inspected this minivan under the hood for a location to mount a Frantz Oil Filter.  I remember him cursing the Ford company about the location of the AC System and how space was wasted because of it.
When I started the transfer of inventory from Oregon, to Idaho I was determined to get both the Oil and Transmission Filters on my family vehicle.  With the help of a mechanic friend at the school bus company I was working with at the time, we determined that the  only places these filters could go was either somewhere inside or underneath.
As you can see, we chose to mount them underneath on the frame of the vehicle.  The oil pressure sending unit was in a bad location down between the engine block and firewall so we used an adapter ring to get the pressure feed and we returned into the oil pan.  Plumbing for the Transmission filter was easy with our special inline adapter on the cooling line from the radiator back to the transmission.  Changing the filter paper on the oil was a little messy the first time and so future changes were done with a second canister pack and ready to go.  As quickly as we pulled the dirty one off we pushed a clean one back on within seconds.
