For the Chevrolet & GMC Duramax Diesel Installations, an Adapter Ring is required to obtain a pressure feed into the Frantz Oil Filter. An Adapter Ring goes between the traditional spin on filter and the engine block to get a supply of oil when access to the oil pressure sending unit is not possible. For the return of the clean oil from the Frantz Oil Filter, most prefer going into the oil fill cap using an Ams/Oil Swivel Fitting rather than poking a hole into the oil pan.
The 2 Bolt holes to the left, were used to secure a metal plate to attach the Filter Mounting Bracket to.
