For this installation, the customer chose to use steel braid lines for his oil pressure and return. Although the Oil Pressure Sending unit is metric, the customer was able to use the regular 1/8" NPT Running T in the Frantz Filter Kit by applying Red LocTite rather then our thread sealant. The Jetta has one unique advantage in that it has a breast plate that covers the underneath of the vehicle. This protection allows for the use of this special fitting to return the clean oil back into the oil pan drain plug which is 14mm X 1.5. The female hose fitting attaches to the other end and there is no need to poke a hole into the oil pan with this installation.
This customer mounted his filter sideways to provide ample clearance for its location under the hood. The mounting bracket allows for several different variations in positioning.
