To Whom It May Concern:

This letter is to inform you of our use of the Frantz Oil Filter System currently manufactured by We Filter It! of Nampa, Idaho.
Our company has been using the Frantz Oil Filter bypass filtration system since 1980, when I first came to work for them.  In the 27 years that I have worked for Industrial Lift Truck, I have never seen nor heard of any engine in our fleet ever failing due to oil contamination, oil breakdown or oil failure with a Frantz Oil Filter installed on it.  We have installed the Frantz Filters on many different engines, transmissions and service trucks.  Many of these units have thousands of hours of operation on them with no engine oil problems!
I am convinced of its use and cleaning capabilities!  For us, the use of the Frantz Filters has been very cost effective.  Over the years, we have saved thousands of dollars, hundreds of hours on the service & maintenance of our equipment and the unnecessary expense of waste oil disposal.    Thank You!

Over the years, I have had a Frantz Oil Filter on most of my vehicles & even on a boat!  When I returned from my LDS Mission in 1962, I owned a 1955 Chevy that was used for most of my mission.  I could always tell the number miles on my motor oil, by the color & I had been faithful about changing my oil often.  My Father was acquainted with a Distributor of Sky Corporation; the early manufacturer of the Frantz Filters.  He sold my Father one of the Frantz Oil Cleaner.  The first Frantz units were canisters that went into the old by-pass filters installed prior to the early 60's by the factories.  Dad had not yet installed the unit on his car & offered it to me when I was changing my oil.  At first, I was not receptive to the "Don't Change Your Oil, Clean Your Oil" concept.  I finally accepted the filter, due to the inexpensive cost of each element change!
After changing the oil & installing that Frantz unit on my car, I made a trip from Southern California to Fresno, California to visit a sick Uncle; from there, I went on to Provo, Utah to attend college BYU.  Soon after, I went to Idaho with a missionary companion.  One day, I realized I had driven over 5000 miles since my last oil change.  When checking the oil level, I was amazed to find that the oil still appeared clean & fresh.  I concluded that there might actually be some truth to this Frantz Oil Cleaner; I replaced the TP Filter Element & have been a faithful user ever since!
In the early 70’s, I purchased a 1963 Pontiac Station Wagon for $125.00.  Although it had a miss in the motor timing, I made the purchase with the intent of rebuilding the engine before using the car that much.  One day I was inspecting the engine to determine the cause of the continuous misfire, and I found a bad nut on the valve adjustment.  After replacing the nut, the miss was gone.  I decided to use this car as is for the time being.  When I got the chance to install a Frantz Oil Filter on this car, I decided to change the oil at the same time so that I would know what was in the engine.  After running the engine for more than 30 minutes to make sure everything was warmed up & to insure there were no leaks, I checked the oil level.  When I pulled the dip stick, the oil looked like it had NOT been changed.  It was as black as before the oil change.
I proceeded to drive the car & after about 600 miles, I noticed the Frantz canister was cold after warming up the motor.  I changed the TP Filter Element, added a quart of oil & continued to drive.  When I had driven another 1000 miles, the filter was again cold & I made another change.  When I had about 3500 miles on the oil & after 3 element changes, the oil had the appearance of new oil.  Later, when I did rebuild the motor, there was no sludge anywhere to be found in the engine.
When I purchased my current 2003 Chevy 6.6 Duramax Diesel Pick-up Truck, I had assumed the Frantz Filters were no longer available; I had installed another Bypass Filtration system.  Upon learning of the Frantz Filter come back, by We Filter It! Inc., of Nampa, Idaho, I removed the other system & installed a brand new model 2000 of the Frantz Filter!

RE: The FRANTZ Oil Filter

WE FILTER IT:

Thank you for continuing the manufacture of the FRANTZ Oil Filter.  I first ordered one over thirty (30) years ago for my 1967 VW.  I have had a FRANTZ Oil Filter in every automobile I have owned since then.
My interest in oil filtration began while I served as an Engine Cadet in the American Merchant Marine.  The oil for turbine lubrication on the S.S. American Leader, C-2 freighter, my first ship, had not been changed in the ten (10) years the ship had been in service when I sailed on her.
That interest continued through my four years in engineering school and during my fifteen years as an aerospace engineer and manager.
Oil does not wear out.  Oil does become contaminated with water; and, in internal combustion engines it becomes contaminated with sulfates and sulfites from combustion by products.  Such contaminates mix with water to form acids which attack engine parts, hence wear.  On ship board such contaminants are removed by centrifuging the oil periodically.  After centrifuging the oil, lost as sludge, is replaced by new oil.  Centrifuging of lube oil in automobiles (and other similar relatively small engines) is not feasible due to both the high cost of and large size of centrifuge equipment.
This is where the FRANTZ Oil Filter comes in.  Automobile engine wear is caused by water and acid resulting from combustion products.  The FRANTZ unit removes the water by capillary action as the lube oil passes through the two-ply toilet paper roll in the FRANTZ bypass filter.  My present automobile is a 1993 Ford Escort I purchased new in November 1993. The  first  thing  I did  upon  purchasing  the  Ford  was  to install  a FRANTZ Oil Filter in it.  That vehicle has been driven by me 135,000 miles with no engine problems.  I am still averaging 39 miles per gallon.  This constant mileage average indicates the engine compression has not changed since I bought the automobile over nine years ago.  Not only  have  I virtually eliminated  the  normal engine wear, I  have  saved  a  bundle of  money each 3,000 miles  when I would have  replaced  all  of  the  engine  lube  oil.  The only oil  I now  have  to  replace is  the  amount  that  is  in  the  used  toilet  paper  roll.  Thus,  for  the  price  of  a  roll of toilet paper and  slightly less than one quart of new  oil  each 3,000 mile service,  I am giving  my engine long life and  saving  money.  Thank you WE FILTER IT!

Very truly yours,

In 1983, I purchased a new 1983 Oldsmobile Royal Brougham 88.  It is a two door, 8 Cylinder Sedan.  The same year, I had a Frantz Oil Cleaner/Filter and a Frantz Transmission Filter installed.  My car is now 19 years old with 133,890 miles on the same Engine and Transmission.  I’ve never had any problems and my maintenance has been simple.  I have always changed the TP Elements myself.  My Frantz Filters have kept my motor oil and transmission fluids continuously clean for the last 19 years.  All I have had to do is change the TP Element in my Frantz Transmission Filter once a year and the one in my Frantz Oil Cleaner/Filter every 3 to 4 thousand miles.  I highly recommend this filter to everyone who cares about their car.

My boat is a 2001 Malibu Wakesetter VLX.  I plan on keeping this boat for a long time, and therefore wanted to take the best care of it I could.  I studied up on oil and found that there is a huge difference in oil.  But even with the best oil, filtration is still extremely important.  Right now I am using AMSOIL 15w-40 Motor oil with an AMSOIL filter. I also wanted a by-pass filter so that I didn't need to constantly be changing the oil, and so that I would get much better protection. The Frantz Oil Cleaner/Filter was the best value, but most importantly it was the easiest to install and use.  Since I have only been using it for 1 year all I can really say is that the oil appears to be much lighter in color than it was last year at this time.  I am very pleased with the performance of the Frantz Filter.

I have been a Frantz Filter owner since 1964.  My first unit was an Oil Filter on my l963 Volkswagen.  The older Volkswagens did not come with a spin-on oil filter; there was only a screen that really did not provide any real oil filtration.  The Frantz Oil Cleaner/Filter worked well.  I now have a 1999 Ford Super-Duty Pick-up Truck with a 7.3 Diesel Engine.  I have a Frantz Oil Cleaner/Filter unit installed on this truck and I use a synthetic oil; Mobil Delvac.  My Frantz Filter keeps my oil looking and performing like new.  I have sent oil samples to Reno, Nevada for oil analysis testing and my oil is almost like “unused”.  The lab gave me an analysis of unused oil to compare to the one performed on the oil out of my truck.  The difference was slight and amazing!

I've found that using your TP rolls makes a major difference in the effectiveness of the filter, and I'd suggest that anybody that is not using this roll is not getting the potential benefit from their investment in a FRANTZ filter.
The looser wound TP rolls when soaked in oil become soft and mushy, allowing the oil to bypass the filtering element (TP roll). When the roll is tightly wound as yours are, the softening is not sufficient to allow the oil to bypass.

I first saw a Frantz Oil Cleaner/Filter in 1968.  A friend of mine was installing one on his pickup truck.  I liked what I saw so I purchased two for myself.  I put them on two Ford Dump Trucks.  They worked very well.  I then purchased a 1970 Ford Tandem dump truck with a Caterpillar engine.  I put a Three Stacker (older Frantz Filter, manufactured by Sky Corp) on it for the oil.  At 12,000 miles, the truck got water in the diesel fuel and caused a couple of fuel injectors to burn.  I then installed a Frantz Fuel Filter on that truck and was able to get over 500,000 miles out of it prior to the block cracking due to extremely cold whether conditions one winter.  We never had to tear down the engine nor did we have to replace the injectors again.
In 1973, I bought a brand new Dodge Tandem with a 413 gasoline engine.  By the time I got the dump body installed, it already had 950 miles on it.  I drained the oil out and put HD 30 weight oil in it along with a brand new Frantz Oil Cleaner/Filter.   The truck was sent to a rock quarry to haul stock material and gravel on a dirt road.  I put 43,450 miles on the oil before changing it; I thought the spin on full flow filter might be coming apart.  I decided to take the spin on full flow filter apart and was amazed to find it still in brand new condition.  The oil inside was also extremely clean.  I owned three of these trucks and put over 250,000 miles on each with no problems.  Maintenance and care for those vehicles was poor at best and they still   were running great when I lost track of them.
I have run Frantz Oil Cleaner/Filters on all of my vehicles; both personal and professionally.  Vehicles included Mercury Cars, Fords Trucks and a Holiday Rambler Motor Home.
1973 was also the year that I went into the trash collection service business.  I had a total of 4 trucks; all with the 389 size engine.

Hi,

I've been using a Frantz Filter on my trucks since 1972. The same unit! Each time I've changed vehicles I removed the Frantz and installed it onto the new rig. I have had the unit on my present truck, a 1960 Chevy K-10, since 1982 and have just finished an engine upgrade (2005) with the Frantz Filter as a necessary performance part of the system. I don't plan on changing rigs any time soon but if I do the Frantz goes with me. I'm so impressed with this filter's ability I have linked my web site to your site to let others find this gem.

To Whom it may Concern.

I did a lot of research to determine which was the best oil by-pass filter on the market for my '09 Dodge Ram 6.7L Diesel Truck & concluded that it was the Frantz By-pass Oil Filter. Recently, I sent in an oil sample to Black Stone Labs to see how well the Frantz was working, the oil had 4,634 miles on it with all miles driven towing a 7.5k trailer.

As you can see by the oil analysis my "
Insolubles" were a very low 0.1%, as compared to the universal average of 0.8%.  In other words my oil was 8 times cleaner than oil samples analyzed (with the same mileage) that had no by-pass filter. Another thing I like about the Frantz is it will filter up to 6oz of water out of oil & my oil analysis showed 0.0% water in the oil as compared to the universal average of 0.1%.
I also compared my oil analysis to two other oil analysis published on a Dodge Cummins web-site with the same mileage on the oil, which had been filtered by an Ams/Oil By-pass Oil Filter & my oil was 3 times cleaner!

I highly recommend the Frantz By-Pass Filters!  The filter elements are easy to change and they filter better.  The Frantz Filter units will last a life time.  They are also the most economical unit on the market.

My name is Al and I am the owner of the 1985 Yellow Pontiac Fiero in the Installation Picture Display.
I too was one of the first Distributors for the Frantz Oil Filters beginning in the 1960’s like George Walker.  Back then, they were called the Frantz Oil Cleaners, because that is what they do!  In addition to filtering the engine oil, they will actually clean up your dirty oil after installation and then keep it clean continuously while you drive your vehicle.
The first car on which I installed a Frantz Oil Cleaner/Filter on was a 1966 Ford Mustang; I put 250,000 miles on this vehicle without changing the oil, ever!  The Frantz Filter Element (in the early days was a facial quality Scott two-ply toilet paper) was only changed monthly, adding one quart of oil to replace what the discarded roll had absorbed.  Additionally, I’ve also owned a: 1966 Riviera; a 1967 Karmann Ghia; a 1971 Opel GT; and a 1972 Lincoln MK IV.  Not one of my cars ever ran without a Frantz Filter installed.  I’ve sold them (no longer actively) and used them as outlined above.  It makes no sense to run any car without one.
After nearly 50 years of using Frantz Filters, I know they work!
